"I like my money right where I can see it, hanging in my closet"
Thanx Carrie Bradshaw *insert eye roll*
It’s the perfect mind set to have...if you're rich of course. But for those of us who are still working our way to the wealthy life, we gonna need another motto.
Contrary to popular belief I wasn't always good at saving my coin's and prior to being dead broke and out of work in 2013 the idea of saving money never even crossed my mind.
But once I got my next job saving was a top priority because I NEVER wanted to be that broke again. The only issue was, at the time I had NO IDEA how to save or where to start because like a lot of people when I was growing up saving was not taught to me.
But now that I know how, I'm passing on the knowledge!
I love putting spins on classic meals especially when those little spins make meals more convent when it comes to preparing, serving and eating.
So whats my favorite classic dish to spin?
LASAGNA!
I've always loved lasagna but never liked the ordeal of making it. I hated the meticulous layering of the pan and the need to get things perfect so it stacked and cut right.
I guess the real issue is that I'm lazy LOL!
But LAZY folks unite!
If you're like me and can't be bothered with the perfection of it all check out my recipe below for lasagna roll ups.
You'll thank me when its time to pack your left over lunch, when you need a mini serving for the kiddo's and even when you want to impress folks for dinner (its something about a roll up that just looks fancy)
Guys...GUYS...GUYYYYYS!!
This is NOT a drill my favorite season is finally here and I could not be more excited.
There's just something about fall that makes me feel at home no matter where I am. The crisp air, the smell of apples, the snuggling...I could literally go on all day about my obsession with the season.
However, instead of just chatting about all the feel's Fall gives me. I'm going to show you a few things you need to pick up right now to start embracing the cozy. So you can share in all the same Fall feels I do!
LETS GET COZY!
Ever since I was little Fall has been my favorite season. I could never put my finger on why, but it but it always felt so magical.
As Ive gotten older I have come to love that along with that magical feeling, Fall is just the perfect season to do EVERYTHING in! From the 23rd of September to the 22nd of December Fall days are waiting to be explored and lived to the fullest.
There is SOOOOOOO much on my todo list for this fall but I have 10 things that are must do's for me this fall and they should be for you too!
When I was little my great grandmother used to watch me when my mom went to work. One of the things that I remember most about going to her house is how amazing it would smell when I woke up on the morning.
The kitchen would be filled with the smell of warm fried apples. Years later I still have that scent memory engrained in my mind.
Although she never got to teach me how to make them, my mom did and with the fall season knocking on our doors I thought this family tradition of mine would be the perfect recipe to share with you all.
Hopefully you'll try it out and get to enjoy this sweet treat with your family and friends this season.

Welp...the time has come *squeals with excitement*
If you have been following me long enough it is terribly apparent that fall is my favorite time of year. Little known fact, I love fall so much that Savannah's name was almost Autumn =)
I love the smell, the cozy feel, the clothes, apple cider, Hocus Pocus and I love to travel in the fall to see FALL FOLIAGE !
But I mean there are plenty of other benefits to traveling in the fall aside from seeing fall foliage lol. The best thing actually may be the savings and convenience, from saving on flights and accommodations to less crowds at tourist attractions, cooler temperatures and sorter lines.
Traveling in fall is lit...which is why I figured I would help get your wheels turning for the best destinations you can travel this fall with the family for the low low.
Everyone wants to post the perfect Instagram picture right?
Before and After |
OF COURSE!
Now when your a blogger like me, posting the perfect Instagram picture is even more important. It can literally be the difference between getting noticed by a brand and securing work or going the entire month without a check coming in...and no one wants that.
I've gotten numerous questions from my followers, blogger and non bloggers alike about what filters an programs I use to edit and in general how I get the "perfectly edited pictures" I post.
While I wouldn't call my pictures anywhere close to perfect lol I have dropped a few tips here and there but finally (because y'all kept asking) I decided to spill ALL THE BEANS behind my "perfect" instagram pics here.
Ok guys its been a long time since I've tried a new recipe...
But a few weeks back when I attempted to switch to a more "health conscious" diet, I felt the need to shake things up a bit and kick my typical meal ideas to the curb.
So I started racking my brain for new dinner ideas that incorporated fresh veggies, whole grains and unprocessed meat but still packed a punch in the flavor department.
So what did I decide on?
RAMEN OF COURSE!
No, i'm not talking the microwave kind that you lived off of (or are still living off of) in college.
I'm talking real deal ramen! If you want to find out how to make restaurant quality Ramen in 30 mins or less keep reading.

News flash!
I'm still in love with nail designs.
I'm really not sure what took me so long to jump on the nail bandwagon but sis is here and I feel like I'm on this ride for the long haul.
So since I'm still searching the internet each week for inspiration to bring my nail tech at my appointments (trust me...she sick of me and my millions of pix's). That also means I have new designs to share with you all as inspiration as well.
Check out the nail designs im crushing on this month below.
For as far back as I can remember I have always LOVED protective styles! Box braids, faux locs, goddess braids, kinky twist, feeder braids, crochet styles...I could go on.
I would beg my mom to do my box braids when I was younger and then sit patiently for hours on a Sunday just so I could go to school on Monday fresh AF and braids swinging only to be crying the next day from an itchy & burning scalp.
End result...a protective style that lasted all of 48 hours and a pissed mom.
If you're experiences sound anything like mine you probably thought just as I did. That you were allergic to fake hair and was doomed to never rock bomb ass braids again.
But thats not the case there IS and answer to your issues and I have it for you, so get ready to rock them braids again girl!
If you've been following my stories over on Instagram you'll know that getting my nails done has become one of my self care routines during my me time and journey back to myself since having a kid.
What I didn't know was that you all would love the nail designs I picked. So much so that every time I post them I get tons of questions on everything from where I get my nails done, to how I pick my designs and if I can send you examples of nail designs.
Since I can't do that for everyone I decided to compile a list of 40 of my favorite nail designs for y'all for all different occasions and personal styles.
Check em out.
Apparently starting an urban garden has become all the rage and I love it!
When I shared a glimpse of my balcony urban garden on IG last year, I was surprised at how many of you reached out wanting tips on how to start an urban garden of your own.
If I would have known folks were interested in this I would have shared how to start an urban garden ages ago as this isn't a new practice for me its actually a little hobby. Every place i've lived since I moved out on my own has had some form of urban garden.
Some years are better than others and what i've grown has changed but i'm supper happy to share how to start an urban garden with you all!
