All Natural Acne Treatments Mask & Home Remedies

Tuesday, January 7, 2014

So a lot of you ladies liked my post about coconut oil and how it was my new holy grail of skin care products. Which of course I loved, knowing that you guys are actually interested in the things that I post helps me know what to post more of. So if you do like what you see please continue to comment here or on Instagram to let me know so I can post more of what you ladies like.

Anywho, along with wanting to know the details of exactly how I use the coconut oil (which will be coming this week) most of you wanted to know more skin care tips and tricks using all natural or household products.

One of the biggest request I got was for an at home acne treatment or a facial scrub you can make yourself using natural products. Now although I personally have never had really bad acne break outs you are in luck because there are two "all natural" remedies that are my go to when my skin does get a little unruly and my face decides that it should become a connect the dot game *side eye*

Acne Treatment #1

The Baking Soda & Lemon Treatment Mask

Now of the two methods I'm going to tell you about today this is the true all natural one.

This is pretty self explanatory actually, the baking soda and lemon juices combine together to make somewhat of a paste and you apply it to your face and let it sit now I wouldn't say let it actually harden like a normal face mask because trust me I have seen this shit dry when I left it in a cup by mistake once and it damn near turned into cement LMAO.

But I would let it sit for about 5 or 10 minuets or so to let everything work its magic.

What you need:

-2 to 4 tbsp of baking soda
-1 to 2 tbsp of lemon juice

You can use fresh squeezed lemon juice or the kind in a bottle. I tend to use fresh squeezed because I use the rest of the lemon in my weight loss "sassy water" (if you want to know more about that comment below). As far as the measurements you can pretty much eye ball that as long as it has a "pasty" consistency your good you actually want it to stick to your face and not be all runny.

What you do:

So your going to want to take a bowl or a cup and put in your baking soda, after that grab your lemon juice and dump that in too. The mixture is going to fizz up on you and turn into this weird looking yellow color but thats all good just means your doing it right lol. Mix it all together until it looks like a paste and then your ready to get to rubbin. Take some in your hand and start to spread it on your face, make sure to get it around the corners of your nose and anywhere else you normally see your face breaking out. Feel free to rub it in a bit, it may tingle or burn but don't worry thats just the lemon juice going to work.

Like I said before give the mixture a little time to sit I would honestly say 15 mins tops but I have heard people leave it on for up to 30 I suppose it all depends on the severity of acne.

Once you have let it sit for the desired time. Run some warm water get your fingers wet and start to scrub the mixture, this will not only loosen it from your face but also let the baking soda work as an exfoliant. Next step is to rinse it all off.

Once your done your skin will look brighter, pimples should look less prominent and your skin should over all look....better.

Feel free to do this 2-3 times a week. With every use of this treatment/mask you will see that your pimples get smaller and ultimately go away, your breakouts will become less frequent, redness will dissipate, blackheads will vanish, your face will feel smoother and you'll smell lemony fresh and in no time you will have a nice bright glow =)

Why this works:

Simple...the lemon juice is an acid and literally dries out the pimples and kills the blackheads while the baking soda acts as an exfoliant for the skin leaving it smooth and clean.

So next time before you spend an arm and a leg on a fancy face cream or acne treatment spend 1.50 on some baking soda and a lemon and see the wonders it can work =)

Acne Treatment #2

Ok this one isn't even that deep...I mean I barely think of it as a treatment its just one of those tips your mom or your sister pass down to you.

And that is toothpaste gets rid of any little break out by the next morning.

Yes toothpaste, Crest, Colgate....wait are there any other types of toothpaste? Lol *shrugs* well my toothpaste of choice is Crest so thats what I use.

Literally the day I notice a bump forming on my face I know that night its going down! Before I go to sleep I put a tiny dot of toothpaste on top of the bump and attempt to sleep pretty so I don't smear that shit everywhere.

When I wake up 9 times out of 10 there is toothpaste all over my pillow *side eye* and the bump is gone like the magical acne fairy took it away in the night.

Why does it work, no clue I just know it does.

Well ladies thats all I have for you today. Have you ever tried these methods? Did they work for you? Are you going to try them? Let me know below!

Until Next Time
XO, Deanna
