How to pineapple short natural hair- Night Routine

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Hey loves!!!

I hope you all are doing well on this fine Tuesday morning...or whenever you happen to be reading this =)

Yesterday on instagram I put up a little pictoral of how I had done my latest twist out which I was compltetly in love with!! Like I have never had such amazing twist out results...EVER and you all seemed to love it as well which of course I was tickled pink about =)

I got my amazing results from doing flat twist and bantu knotting the ends instead of traditinal two strand twist, it allowed my hair to fall in a more uniformed pattern and also the curls were much softer and managable. In case you missed the picture on how I flat twisted my hair ill put the picture below.
The twisting method I used and the first day results
A few days later, also on instagram, which reminds me if your not following me on IG @theprettygirlsguide you are missing out on some great daily updates! Anywho a few days later I posted another picture showing that my 3 day hair and it still looked just as amazing. Alot of people questioned how I got my curls to last so long and I mentioned that I had been pineappling my hair at night.

Which most of you either didnt know about (gasp) oooooooor thought it was impossible to do on shorter natural hair! HA!!! Thats a lie and I am living proof, if you have length to your hair the pineapple method can work for you! There is just a little trick to it that naturals with longer hair *side eye* lol dont have to worry about.

Sooooooo I decided I would help my short hair naturals out. Instead of trying to explain on Instagram with a pictoral, I went ahead and made a quick video showing you exactly how to pinapple short natual hair and give you the easy little step that us naturals with shorter hair HAVE to do to ensure that the pineapple method works flawlessly every time.

Three day hair!!

Using the pineapple method I am able to make my twist out/curly hairstyles last a week or more with minimal to no retwisting or extra product!!

I hope you enjoy this video and that it helps you mantain long lasting curly styles!

If you have any questions feel free to ask them here, on IG or shoot me an email!

Until Next Time
XO, Deanna

  2. Would you mind uploading a tutorial of how you flat twist your hair? I've tried to flat twist my 2" hair and I end up with defined curls in some areas and frizz in other areas. I use: Curl Enhancer by Shea Moisture, Eco Styler with aloe vera, and to take down my curls I use a combination of different oils (to prevent frizz).

  4. Thanks for sharing this beauty technique. I think that the results you got are really interesting. There's so much that you can do with different techniques, once you've learned to use them well. It also help to have the right beauty products that keep natural hair looking lovely.

  7. I've never commented before but I wanted to tell you that you look beautiful! I went from having really long hair to cutting it as short as yours about 8 months ago. It takes a couple of weeks to get used to walking by a mirror and not being shocked by how short your hair. For more details look at this website
