Essence & Ford My City 4 Ways DC Recap

Thursday, May 25, 2017

What do you get when you mix food, music, art, fashion and a few good girlfriends?

The Ford and Essence My City 4 Ways Event!
(and a load of black girl magic pictures of course)

Last weekend Essence & Ford hosted the My City 4 Ways Tour in DC as one of the stops on the road to the Essence Festival and it brought out some of the district best tastemakers!

The really showcased what this city has to offer from music all the way to fashion and if this is any indication as to what the 2017 Essence Festival is going to be like...i'm all for it.

Now when I originally heard about the event I put out a call to all of my DMV followers telling them to head on over to the Longview Gallery in NW because I had a feeling it was going to be good! And of course a week later I'm still raving about the AH-MAY-ZING time I had.

Check out my mini recap with pix and video of the event below!

The ESSENCE My City 4 Ways event powered by Ford was hosted by Cori Murray the Entertainment Director for ESSENCE and Loni Love of the day time talk show The Real at Longview Gallery in North West DC on May 21, 2017.

And it was a packed event!

Check out the recap video above

Guest of the event were served some of the finest food in DC cooked up by Chef Daniel Thomas, serenaded by local musical group We The Fix and were even able to chit chat with Robin & Andrea McBride of McBride Sisters Wines and celebrity stylist Ty Hunter who of course styles the Queen Bey herself.

Those interested in feeding their need for speed (or the speed limit) were able to ride and drive with some of Ford's newest models on the market.

Speaking of, if you your in the market for a new whip I suggest taking the new Ford Fusion Hybrid for a test drive. I loved mine that I got to cruise around in all weekend courtesy of Ford.

The atmosphere was young, social and vibrant much like the feeling you get anytime your in the streets of DC.

Each room was filled with media, local movers and shakers and even a few famous faces from out of town.

Around each corner was a new surprise, from photo booths to live paintings by artist Aniekan Udofia. Free screen printed tees & shopping brands made right here in the District like District of Clothing. Even *gasp* Genuine....yes Mr. In Those Jeans him self took a step into the crowd.

Everything was held together with lit sounds from Little Bacon Bear (female dj) on the 1's & 2's and some beautiful DC weather.

It was a great time! To see more from the event be sure to check the hashtag #myfordcity on instagram an twitter.

Until Next Time,
XO Deanna
